art and crafts for 2year olds and playdough recipe?!?
i am looking for a really good play-dough recipe, that requires no cooking and is soft with a non sticky texture?!
also i want to get a big piece of butchers paper and do a free flowing painting with a 2year old using a variety of materials, what would you suggest using??
2 year olds love to use a variety of textures, try using coloured shaving cream (colour with dry paint), food dye in wallpaper paste is also a great item to use, they can paste different things on also to enhance the painting.
I find that basically anything that can be swished on can be used to paint with. Try adding different textures to the paint such as sand, dry lentils (if you are allowed to use food), glitter etc.
as for playdough try 2 cups plain flour, 1 cup salt, 1tblspoon dry paint, (you can add liquid, use less water), 1 cup oil, 1 cup cream of tartar and 1 cup water. Mix together till well mixed ( ou may need to add more water) keep in air tight container in fridge when not in use, will last for up to 2 weeks.
